About the role

The Assortment Planning Manager is responsible for commercial merchandising activities across operational strategy, planning, trading and execution of tasks related to the product lifecycle and commercial planning.

Actions have a direct impact on maximising customer satisfaction, sales and profitability through effective commercial and inventory management to achieve overall business objectives and targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct and agree Merchandise Financial Plan to support strategic objectives and commercial budgets.
  • Construct and agree annual commercial budgets to deliver business objectives.
  • Ensure effective stock flow through the business, by establishing robust planning and allocation methodologies within the department.
  • Agree stock profile by category to support strategic and commercial objective, whilst meeting availability targets.
  • Deliver effective pricing approach throughout the product lifecycle to ensure volume and margin maintained, whilst stocks managed, aligning to a clear trading plan.
  • Manage and optimise the critical path to effectively fulfil merchandise plans.
  • Optimise product lifecycle including replenishment with utilisation of the Forecasting application.
  • Continual review and improvement of end to end processes and technical scope to deliver consistent best practice and efficiencies throughout.
  • Working in collaboration with logistics, operations and sourcing, establish opportunity to increase speed to market.
  • Identify opportunity within the P&L to reduce cost. · Leverage data to best inform strategic business insights and relevant application.
  • Lead and motivate team through continual change and development
