The Retail and Site Audit Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Retail Accounting Team. The Accounting Manager role is responsible formaintaining the financial information and preparing financial reports in compliance with GAAP and internal reporting requirements.
The Accounting Manager will lead a team of accounting professionals responsible for the general ledger, cash management, retail accounting, cost accounting, and merchandise. This role will provide leadership to ensure accuracy and adherence to established policies and procedures relevant to the accounting functions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Ensures the accuracy and consistency of data for merchandise and petroleum inventory, car wash revenue, loyalty revenue/expense and general ledger. Monitors, researches, and reviews gross margins monthly related to merchandise and petroleum categories. Perform various ongoing and special ad hoc operational and accounting reports.
Assists Operations with establishment and adherence to cash management and loss prevention policies and procedures related to convenience stores.
Supervises the preparation of monthly journal entries.
Ensures timely preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and assists outside CPA firm for audit purposes.
Supervises monthly general ledger reconciliations of assigned GL accounts related to convenience stores, car wash, and petroleum.
Oversees, monitors, and works to improve accounting procedures relating to areas of responsibility, including, but not limited to, database management and ERP upgrades and/or changes.
Assists in identification of areas of cost control, revenue and margin generation to improve bottom line performance. Assists in the implementation of identified process improvements and coordinates with internal departments and external vendors.
Assists Operations with annual planning/budget process.
Oversee the training and development of staff and delegate duties to meet departmental and organizational goals.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, required; master's degree in accounting or CPA desired, but not required.
5+ years of functional and operational accounting experience.
3+ years of supervisory experience across accounting and/or finance functions
Convenience retail (c-store), restaurant, and/or grocery industry experience required.
Experience with PDI Technologies enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems required.
Strong financial analysis, research and technical accounting skills.
Authorization to work in the U.S. (visa sponsorship or C2C opportunities not available at this time).
Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check, including credit check, in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.

Availability and Travel
This hybrid role complies with our company’s hybrid telework schedule. Our operating days and hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with in-office days being Tuesday through Thursday, reserving Monday and Friday as work-from-home.
Occasionally, business needs may require periodic work obligations outside of core business hours.
This role may require occasional travel, including overnight stays for training, conferences, or other events with reimbursement available for approved accommodation and/or expenses.
