Founding Software Engineer

THE ROLE

There are very few software engineers with intimate knowledge of 9-1-1. Taking a page from Palantir’s book — this role is “Forward Deployed”. You will gain an understanding of the customers’ problems through directly interacting with them: through site visits, customer support, and integration assistance. Unlike most SWEs, expect this to be 20%+ of your time.

As a Founding Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building solutions that address our customers’ needs, end-to-end. You will have a deep, technical understanding of the problems ECCs face and will work directly with them to improve their experience with the platform.

WHAT YOU DO

• Design, develop, and ship features that make the product better and more complete

• Work closely with the largest customers to problem-solve technical hurdles

• Help customize and integrate the software to best match our customers’ needs

• Dedication to your craft and a willingness to get your hands dirty

• Track record shipping

• Strong technical skills; experience with React, Python, containerized applications, and Azure is a plus

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate deeply technical information simply
