Reuters News is looking for an experienced and ambitious Tech Policy/Antitrust Correspondent (Level 1 Journalist) in Washington.The successful candidate will break news on the continuing antitrust onslaught aimed at Big Tech, be the first to uncover efforts to regulate AI, and report on a slew of other consumer protection issues that can impact corporate profits. These are stories are on topics like Washington's efforts to make sure AI is deployed fairly, the FTC's antitrust lawsuit against Amazon and exclusives about the next industries in regulators' crosshairs. When done right, and quickly, these are top reads among Reuters LSEG clients and on Reuters.com, especially when we break news.The ideal reporter will be able to build sources within the FTC and the Antitrust Division of the Justice Department, the antitrust legal community in Washington and corporate lobbyists whose companies' face the greatest regulatory threat.The position also requires legal experience covering trials and occasional work on Capitol Hill to cover hearings. The position will emphasize the interactions companies have with the administration and lawmakers, and how corporate power and money help determine legislative outcomes.
