** This position will ideally be based out of our corporate headquarters in Austin, TX and will be hybrid. Individuals need to be willing to commute to Downtown Austin 2 days a week. Candidates based in other geographies across the U.S. will also be considered for a remote role. **Reporting to: Director of Benefits
Role Overview: The Senior Benefits Partner is a key player within our Total Rewards team, responsible for supporting the analytical functions of our benefits department. This role ensures compliance and accuracy in benefits data, while identifying opportunities to enhance processes, procedures, and plan design. This role collaborates closely with both internal and external teams, contributing to the success of a dynamic and expanding organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze benefit trends, evaluate coverage options, and conduct benchmarking and cost analysis.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for benefit inquiries, managing and resolving tier 2 benefit tickets.
• Manage vendor relationships, participate in regular discussions and monitoring service level agreements (SLAs).
• Perform thorough auditing and reconciliation of benefit invoices, data feeds, and reports.
• Conduct ad hoc cost analyses for benefit plans and time off programs as needed.
• Collaborate with the Benefits Director and Workday Team to resolve file feed discrepancies, implement system processes, and manage Open Enrollment changes.
• Oversee COBRA, FSA/HSA audits, processing manual uploads to correct discrepancies, and reconciling exception reports and deposits.
• Maintain the project plan for Open Enrollment and other implementations.
• Conduct regular 401(k) loan audits, process adjustments, and provide data for audits and compliance filings.
• Own the benefits budget and manage premium rate worksheets.
• Support compliance and regulatory functions by staying informed on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring timely filings and assisting with reporting.
• Communicate benefits information effectively to employees, management, HR partners, and external parties, including auditors, and troubleshoot any issues.
• Develop and deliver informational materials, presentations, and training on benefits as needed.
Core Experience and Skills:
• 7+ years of experience as a benefits generalist with a focus on multi-unit, national large-scale employer plans
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) is a plus
• Proven track record in a similar role, with experience in self-funded plans
• Familiarity with Workday is a plus
• Deep expertise in benefits, including 401(k) plans, and a strong understanding of federal and state regulations (ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, IRS regulations)
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to tell a compelling story through data using tools like Word and PowerPoint
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong team and personal relationships
• Strong presentation skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work
