Tech Lead, Site Reliability Engineer, Global E-commerce

The Global E-commerce SRE team of US Tech Services works with engineering and product teams to build and run... large-scale, globally distributed, observable, fault-tolerant systems. As the SRE tech lead, you will own a key business initiative focused on the service delivery of a core revenue generating E-commerce platform serving millions of customers around the world. What You'll Do: o Build and manage an SRE team focused on service reliability, highly-scalable design and release management in a cloud-native environment. o Develop a tech roadmap for the team with the goal of improving uptime, latency, and system health of a critical TikTok production platform. o Collaborate cross team with engineering and product to ensure that key requirements (such as capacity planning and launch reviews) are performed to enable transparent service delivery to customers. o Strive for automation geared towards infrastructure-as-code, scalability and service resiliency. o Design and implement SRE practices around incident management and post-mortems. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: o At least 5-10 years experience in an SRE/DevOps team maintaining highly scalable backend services and systems using at least one of the following: Java/Golang/Python/C++. o Experience in a tech lead role or similar. o Proficiency in Linux operating system internals, networking and microservices in cloud-native environments o Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems o Basic experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design o Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive o Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience Preferred Qualifications: o Experience with running production grade web services at scale in a cloud native environment o Experience with implementing observability solutions such as monitoring, logging and tracing in complex service meshes TikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
