Transportation Manager
Remote with some travel
As Transportation Manager, you will own the optimization of our inbound and outbound transportation services for multiple locations across the US. You will be tasked with identifying opportunities for consolidation through a complex and often fragmented space, and developing solutions for middle mile transportation between facilities. You will provide transportation knowledge and leadership and align with the procurement leadership team to drive efficiencies and improvements throughout our supply chain. Compensation for this role is 90k-120k.
Scope of Work:
- Work directly with suppliers, internal procurement teams, and site leadership to evaluate opportunities in our supply chain.
- Define goals, set objectives/milestones, analyze data and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics.
- Negotiate on Odeko's behalf in order to optimize cost in the transportation space
- Develop a deep understanding of Odeko's supply chain to drive consolidation and create best practices.
- Determines and selects optimum transportation mode and tenders shipment to appropriate carriers.
- Develop relationships across the network to ensure best practices are being shared and implemented.
- Participates in special projects, including analysis and summary of data with recommendations for future transportation procedures.
- Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks).
- Align with internal customers, Finance and Procurement Operations to understand budgetary targets by building and developing methods of measuring and defining savings, value and other category metrics.
- Develop and implement ways to measure suppliers to drive continuous performance improvement
Core Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain operations
- Strong analytics and mathematics background
- Supplier/ vendor relationship management experience
- 5+ years' experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and analytical platforms, including but not limited to the ability to analyze data using pivots and V-Lookups.
- Experience understanding process flow and suggest improvements to deliver cost savings, inventory reduction, or other benefits to the site.
- Lean / Six-Sigma knowledge
- Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric
- Ability to work with ambiguity
- Provide a positive customer experience internally and externally
- NetSuite experience preferred
