Assistant Service Manager

Transwest is seeking an Assistant Service Manager that will be responsible for dispatching work orders to the appropriate technicians and opening & closing out work orders. The Assistant Service Manager will be held accountable for effectively achieving and maintaining dealership goals regarding customer satisfaction, employee productivity, and efficient management of service technicians. When the Service Manager is absent this individual will act as interim Service Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  •  Manage and directly supervisor shop staff including Administration, Mechanics, Technicians, and Service Writers
  • Assist Service Manager in training personnel.
  • Perform quality assurance activities as directed through quality assurance inspections, random quality checks and training technicians in quality assurance.
  • Assist Service Manager in resolving customer complaints and general customer relations.
  • Schedule, assign, and supervise work with the objective of maximizing the balance of quality, productivity, and profit.
  • Supervise maintenance of tools and shop equipment.
  • Customer relations including maintaining relationships with current customers.
  • Quality Assurance – Review estimates and actual repair time.
  • Labor Pricing.
  • Initial and on-going training and support of all service personnel.
  • Actively engage Service Manager and participate in annual marketing plan and budget for the shop.
  • Involved in regular monitoring of actual performance to plan and determine reasons for variance.
  • Develop and implement appropriate strategies and programs as necessary to attain the dealerships shop objectives.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed to maintain Elite Certification.
  • Carry out established company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager. 
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the shop floor. 


WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
  • Occasionally lift/push/pull up to 45 lbs.
  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Required manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input.
  • Climb in and out of vehicles.
  • Normal range of hearing and vision.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years’ service experience
  • Dealership experience preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
