Internal Events Planner

Tremendous is the fast, free, flexible way to send bulk payouts to people in over 200 countries. 10,000+ companies ranging from mom-and-pops to Google, MIT, and United Way have sent over $1 billion, saving 15 hours a month on average.

In both our product and our workplace, we’re intentional about making work more efficient, flexible, and fulfilling. Tremendous is a fully remote, high-documentation, low-meeting culture, which means more time for what matters in both your professional and personal life.

Our customers, who include marketers, UX researchers, HR teams and nonprofits, rave about how quick and easy it is to use Tremendous — check the ratings on G2. Yet there’s a lot of complexity under the hood, including over 2,000 redemption options and plenty of banking infrastructure. This duality makes working here a fun challenge.

We’re about 90 people, highly profitable without any investors, and have been doubling our revenue for a few years and counting. Join us before the next international offsite!

About the role

We’re looking for an Internal Events Planner to organize and execute company events, which include our all-company offsites, subteam offsites, and virtual All Hands meetings.

At Tremendous, offsites are a cornerstone of our culture, blending work with relaxation and team bonding (read more about them in our public handbook). As our Internal Events Planner, you will orchestrate these eagerly anticipated gatherings, held twice annually in festive locations. We recently brought our remote team together in Mexico City, Lisbon, and Medellin. In the fall, we’re headed to Montreal for a week.

The role calls for a highly creative and detail-oriented individual capable of creating memorable experiences that foster team bonding and alignment. Your mission will be to meticulously plan and execute every aspect of these offsites, from logistics and accommodations to daily programming.

This role is suited for someone who thrives in a startup environment and enjoys the challenge of creating seamless and engaging experiences that balance work and fun. Your efforts will directly contribute to the spirit and success of our team, making every offsite a landmark event in our company’s calendar.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the planning and execution of company offsites, including venue selection, agenda setting, and coordination of activities.

  • Ensure that each offsite reflects the Tremendous culture and values, with a focus on team bonding, alignment on company initiatives, and celebration of achievements.

  • Manage logistics from start to finish, securing accommodations, arranging transportation, and handling on-site details to create a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

  • Work closely with team leaders to organize company events and provide regular updates to the full team.

  • Monitor and control event budgets, negotiate with vendors, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.

  • Measure the impact of each offsite, gathering feedback to continuously improve the experience.

  • Assisting with special projects as needed, such as logistics for marketing events.

What we’re looking for

  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and are great under pressure when things don’t go well.

  • You have the ability to quickly grasp business objectives and translate them into an experience.

  • You bring energy and creativity to developing team activities.

  • You proactively identify potential issues with scheduling, travel, and projects and seek solutions.

  • You like to work smart, not hard. We’re an outcome-based company.

  • You can take feedback and incorporate it into future events without compromising on vision.

You have

  • 2+ years in an Internal Event Planning or similar role

  • Experience planning events for 20-150 people (particularly fun ones)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Attention to detail

What's cool about the role

  • You'll work at a company growing quickly yet sustainably. We’re profitable with plenty more opportunity ahead. That’s good news for your career growth.

  • Competitive pay, equity and benefits. The base salary for this role is $90,000 - $120,000.

  • We're a remote company. Work from wherever you want in the Americas.

  • Smart people and a great culture. See our company handbook.
