What you'll do

  • Create and maintain design requirements while completing traceability to outputs and V&V.

  • Design, develop and maintain our PCBs for motor control, power distribution, LED displays and test automation.

  • Assist in firmware development for embedded systems and test fixtures (using 62304).

  • Design, develop and maintain other electrical parts such as cables, battery, chargers etc.

  • Participate in internal and external lab verification activities (using 60601-1, 60601-2).

  • Create work instructions for incoming inspection, in process testing and assembly of electrical parts.

  • Support the manufacturing, service and supply chain teams by troubleshooting technical issues and communicating with external stakeholders.

  • Maintain and update the DHF and participate in releasing DMRs.

  • Lead compliance efforts related to electrical safety standards (UL, cMETus).

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in an electrical design role.

  • Experience using electrical CAD software (Altium).

  • Strong knowledge of standards such as 60601, 62304, 13485.

  • Extensive experience with hardware design and volume manufacturing for medical devices or robotics using cGMP.

  • Extensive experience with embedded software development in C/C++ and working in a linux environment.

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

  • Hands-on experience with solder, crimping and using standard electrical test tools.

  • Interest in exoskeletons.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in a medical device company.

  • Knowledge of ROS.

Please note that at this time, we can only consider applicants who are already eligible to work in Canada and we are unable to provide relocation support. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to receiving your application.
