Senior Java Backend Engineer - Trust & Safety, Chris LaPointe
Tripadvisor is looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join their remote team of backend engineers. The ideal candidate will lead the design and implementation of complex technical systems, work closely with stakeholders, mentor junior engineers, and be responsible for all aspects of software engineering.
Skills
- 5+ years of large scale, full life cycle development experience
- Experience in designing and building Java-based programs and applications
- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO design
- Experience working in a tech lead capacity
- Cloud Platform experience (AWS) and knowledge of IaC framework
- Hands-on experience with SQL
- Experience with full-stack web development with React or other JavaScript frameworks is a plus
Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of complex technical systems
- Work closely with stakeholders to define system requirements
- Be responsible for the quality of code shipped and troubleshoot complex issues
- Mentor junior engineers and promote team success
- Own and be accountable for business-critical systems
- Be responsible for all aspects of software engineering
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
