Tunnel construction QA inspector

Mott MacDonald is looking for professionals to join our expanding construction management team. We are looking to bring on a heavy civil construction QA inspector/monitor. Mott MacDonald is a multi-disciplined engineering and advisory consultancy, with a significant presence in the West Coast transportation, infrastructure, and water/wastewater realm within construction management.

The tunnel construction QA inspector will be part of the project’s CM teams ensuring that the design documents are being followed on the project(s). This advertised position is for tunnel repair and expansion work of a chamber housing valves in an outlet tunnel. The project also includes heavy lifting and installation of mechanical components and structural elements, bulkhead steel components, and temporary work elements in confined spaces.

The tunnel construction QA inspector must communicate and coordinate with the resident engineer on all matters pertaining to:

• Issues arising on site
• Potential non-conformances
• Differences in interpretation of specifications
• Differences in interpretation of processes / procedures
• Technical issues
• Administrative issues
• Construction methods
• Potential construction contract changes

We invite applications from candidates with the following required experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a SEM tunnel construction inspector or field engineer
• Minimum 1 year inspecting mechanical installation work
• Candidates need to be proficient in electronic project documentation

Salary Range: $110,000 - $180,000
