Founded in 1967 on the principle that the production, critical analysis and history of art are inter-related activities, it has long been recognized for its distinctive combination of faculty - artist and critics, theorists and scholars. The department offers five undergraduate majors, seven minors and two graduate degrees, which together represent the expanded range of art in the contemporary world. With the introduction of our new undergraduate program in Speculative Design and the peer-reviewed, digital publication FIELD: A Journal of Socially Engaged Art Criticism, the range of our research activities is extended further beyond the library, classroom, studio, gallery, museum and performance space into science and engineering laboratories, the city, the region and the public sphere.Provide fiscal transactional support to the Department of Visual Arts. This position works at a fast pace managing a high volume of financial transactions for faculty, staff, students, events and others affiliated with the department. This position assists on tasks related to financial processing including: Concur travel and reimbursements, speaker payments, procurement card purchases and reconciliation, travel and expense card reconciliation, Oracle Procurement, and other general fiscal activities. Prepare all aspects of disbursements and purchasing for graduate and undergraduate student projects and grants that include a large volume of honorarium, international travel, purchasing specialized equipment and supplies.• Please submit a cover letter along with a resume for a complete application.Qualifications• Experience processing reimbursements in a business setting.• Working experience making travel arrangements in a business setting.• Superior organizational skills, including the skills: to independently organize and effectively prioritize own work; to track action items and deadlines for self and others; and to prompt others when action is needed.• Superior interpersonal skills, including: the desire and ability to interact effectively and collegially with a diverse group of individuals from varying cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds; the skill to use tact and diplomacy to accomplish tasks in a timely fashion; the skill to see situations/issues from others' viewpoints; and the ability to act professionally at all times.• Superior oral/written communication skills, including a demonstrated written/verbal command of the English language and the skill to communicate effectively with non-native speakers of English.• Skill to use tools such as word processing systems, spreadsheets, e-mail and calendaring systems. Ability to learn to use specialized systems.• Basic analytical skills, including the skills: to think logically; to find patterns and trends; to recognize anomalies and outliers; to identify the ways in which items/situations are similar (or dissimilar); and to resolve a complex issue into its component parts.• Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail and to produce accurate and timely work despite frequent interruptions. Includes the ability to identify typographical and other errors when proofreading materials.• Demonstrated ability to learn new methods for computer aided data reporting/retrieval, new computer applications, data processing software and relational database systems• Ability to comply with University confidentiality policies and procedures.• Ability to learn, understand, and comply with UC personnel policies, practices, and procedures.• Skill to use a variety of standard office machines (copiers, faxes, etc.).• Basic mathematical skill to calculate totals and percentages.• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and initiative.SPECIAL CONDITIONS• Background Check required.Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $40,700 - $85,295 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)Hourly Equivalent: $19.49 - $40.85Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
