Participates in performing risk assessments, audits, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing to independently evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls that are designed to ensure the achievement of management's operating objectives, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and reliability of financial statements and other reporting.• Compiles and maintains audit work papers in conformity with departmental quality standards and guidelines promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors.• Executes assigned tasks in conformity with deadlines and budget expectations.• Keeps the Lead Auditor and Audit Manager informed of progress, impediments, and the results of fieldwork.• Participates in discussions with audit clients/management regarding results of testing in order to validate facts and circumstances, establishing the basis for audit testing conclusions and/or reportable findings.• Identifies and/or helps to assess potential for control enhancements or opportunities for management to improve the efficiency or effectiveness of operations.• Provides assistance in responding to information requests or requests for assistance from external auditors, regulatory examiners, and other bank departments.• Performs assigned SOX testing procedures.• Proactively seeks information and learns about the business..• Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities - knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.• Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.• Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.• May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.• Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.• Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.• Embraces our vision to become "Business Bank of Choice"• May perform other duties as assigned..About You:• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business field or equivalent experience.• Less than 2 years entry-level candidates should have a strong academic record in a relevant business or technical discipline. Required• General familiarity with banking and financial services.• General knowledge of accounting and finance, risk assessment, internal control, and auditing concepts/methods; basic knowledge and skills in relevant technical discipline (e.g., information technology, quantitative/modeling, data analytics, other).• Willingness to learn, work as part of a team, and comfortable sharing ideas with others.Workstyle: Fully onsite.Our Benefits:We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $61,000.00-$85,000.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location.
