Overview

Utah State University Extension is seeking a motivated and organized individual to serve as an Extension Program Coordinator I in Utah County. This position will focus approximately 50% of time on supporting iSEE-approved school outreach and 50% on strengthening and supporting the 4-H youth development program. The successful candidate will play a key role in volunteer and member recruitment, program delivery, and indoor county fair exhibit coordination.

 

This position will require occasional evening and weekend hours to support 4-H events and activities. The role is based in the Utah County Extension office and includes regular travel to schools and community sites.

Responsibilities

iSEE School Outreach (Approx. 50%):

  • Coordinate and deliver interactive educational presentations and activities in schools as part of the iSEE program.
  • Develop strong relationships with school administrators, teachers, and students.
  • Assist with scheduling, tracking, and reporting on program outcomes.
  • Ensure educational content aligns with state curriculum and program objectives.

4-H Youth Development (Approx. 50%):

  • Recruit and support 4-H members and adult volunteers.
  • Provide leadership and logistical support to the Utah County 4-H Teen Council.
  • Assist with planning and implementing STEM and Family and Consumer Science (FCS) projects and activities.
  • Support the planning, organization, and execution of indoor exhibits for the Utah County Fair.
  • Help maintain accurate records of participation and engagement in 4-H programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, communications, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work site, and ability to travel within Utah County.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in school-based education, Extension programming, or youth development.
  • Familiarity with 4-H or similar youth programs.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Skills in volunteer coordination and event planning.
