About the Role

As part of SelectQuote’s continued investment in future technology leaders, we are seeking a highly motivated Technology Intern to join our Enterprise Architecture team. This internship provides direct exposure to the design, deployment, and management of modern enterprise infrastructure and DevOps practices. Under the guidance of a senior architect, the intern will contribute to initiatives that align infrastructure operations with business strategy, support modernization efforts, and ensure operational resilience.

This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in enterprise IT. The intern will engage with technologies and frameworks foundational to large-scale systems, including cloud infrastructure, network architecture, server management, and DevOps automation. Interns will also develop critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills as they work on strategically significant technology projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the documentation and analysis of enterprise network, server, and application architecture, including physical and logical topology mapping
• Support infrastructure modernization efforts, including server deployments (AD, DNS, SCCM) and patch lifecycle automation
• Participate in the design and implementation of secure TCP/IP and VoIP networks across multi-site and hybrid environments
• Monitor system health using enterprise monitoring tools and help interpret log events and performance metrics
• Contribute to internal wikis and documentation repositories to standardize operational procedures and architectural decisions
• Help troubleshoot end-to-end infrastructure issues and evaluate root cause analysis
• Assist in automating system tasks using shell scripting or Python, YAML, and DevOps tools
• Explore security configurations and hardening best practices for Linux- and Windows-based systems
• Work alongside the architect to evaluate new tools and emerging technologies in support of future platform decisions

Skills/Abilities:

• Working knowledge of Linux-based systems and cloud infrastructure concepts
• Basic understanding of enterprise security principles and best practices
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), YAML, and Python scripting
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge to solve problems
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Effective communicator, both independently and within team environments

Education and Experience: 

• Currently enrolled in Junior or Senior year of college/university required
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (junior or senior level) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline. Coursework or project experience in infrastructure, DevOps, data analytics, or systems architecture preferred.
• Relevant previous internship experience or the completion of a project that demonstrates aptitude for programming and data analysis required

Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
