Associate Attorney- Real Estate

Key Responsibilities:
As our Junior Associate Attorney, your role will be integral to our success. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Case Management: You will manage a caseload of real estate cases, including real estate broker and agent defense litigation, real estate transaction litigation, foreclosure defense, property disputes, and easement/land-use matters.
  • Legal Proceedings: You will have the opportunity to represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and depositions, providing exceptional legal representation.
  • Discovery and Legal Drafting: Develop and implement discovery plans, draft pleadings for litigation matters, respond to discovery requests, and bring, oppose, and argue dispositive motions for assigned cases.
  • Client Communication: Occasional communication with clients to provide updates on their respective cases.
  • Team Leadership and Task Management: You will guide and manage tasks for staff members and paralegals/legal assistants on your team.
  • Billing: Meeting and exceeding billable hour requirements, demonstrating a robust work ethic and commitment to client service.
Your Profile:
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
  • 2-4 years of relevant civil litigation experience, preferably in real estate law.
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills, high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with law firm technology and software tools, including but not limited to: Clio Manage, GSuite, Zoom, DialPad.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with California State and Federal Courts.
**Additional Desired Skills: **
  • Trial experience in state or federal bench/jury trials, administrative hearings, mediations, and/or arbitrations.
  • Experience in real estate transaction litigation/failure to disclose, or real estate broker insurance defense litigation.
  • Business and/or transactional experience.
  • Prior experience working in foreclosure defense or representing creditors or loan servicer/investors.
