As a member of our high-performance actuarial team, you'll help support UnitedHealth Group's growth and financial goals and while you help shape our future.As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will be empowered, supported, and encouraged to use your actuarial expertise as part of an analytics team performing healthcare economics analyses. You'll also find an actuarial study program to support you in your continuing post-graduate education and certification.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Analyze detailed data sets and interpret key drivers of healthcare trendsConduct studies to evaluate emerging healthcare utilization and cost patterns and identify savings opportunitiesProvide management with actuarially informed findings and conclusionsAssist in peer review of analyses completed by actuarial analystsMentor and supervise actuarial analysts in the technical aspects of actuarial projectsAre you ready to set the pace as an expert problem solver? You will also be tasked with communicating the results of your work in a meaningful way to broad audiences, including our valuable clients.You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience• Must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2+ Actuarial exams• 2+ years of experience working in a corporate environment including experience collecting, analyzing and summarizing qualitative/quantitative data• Proficiency in MS Excel for building actuarial models and summarized revenue and claims reportsPreferred Qualifications:• 1+ years of experience in SQL and/or SAS with multidimensional databases• Experience working in finance or the healthcare industry• All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyCalifornia, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
