UIC has nearly 260,000 alumni, and is one of the largest employers in the city of Chicago.Description:Position SummaryThis position recruits prospective professional and graduate students through development and implementation of integrated marketing and recruitment and yield strategies to meet the Rockford and Chicago Programs and University enrollment goals. This highly visible position performs targeted outreach to both internal and external constituencies, legislators, community leaders and organizations in order to establish and grow professional relationships with prospective students, parents, counselors and educators, high schools, 2 and 4 year colleges through in-person/print, on-line and social media networking.Duties & Responsibilities• Seek out opportunities to engage and meet prospective students by traveling to and participating in and disseminating relevant information at local, state-wide, or national school events, college fairs, community organizations, conferences, college day/night programs, schools fairs, Veteran Affairs career fairs, and other settings.• Represent the College during on-campus events to provide information about pharmacy professional and graduate programs (including but not limited to individual academic/professional programs, resources, opportunities, facilities, etc.)• Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students, field questions, and respond to inquiries and concerns through various mediums (e.g. individual appointments, telephone, email and social networking.) Host/assist in establishing and coordinating on-campus and virtual online programs for prospective students.• Establish and maintain relationships with students/parents, high school counselors, teachers, and administrators to provide pre-admission advice and counsel relative to the recruitment and admissions processes.• Collaborate and outreach to advisors, faculty and pre-pharmacy/pre-health organizations at "top" feeder schools; Build a stronger connection with small, private, four year colleges/universities, as well as local two year institutions.• Work with the Office of Advancement to tap into potential recruitment opportunities through Pharmacy alumni and friends, and assist/develop and maintain promotional and marketing plans; e.g., social media networks, list serves, email blasts, video conferences/virtual career fairs, blogs etc. targeted to these constituencies.• Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make recommendations for program changes and/or enhancements.• Compile, assess and interpret student data, event outcomes, recruitment trends, market area trends and report findings to senior leadership and faculty. Update and report regularly on recruiting events and outcomes.• Develop a database of collaborative and or recruitment opportunities; Prepares and produces statistical reports on an as needed basis.• Develop and conduct programs/workshops on pre-professional preparation, career development; Counsel prospective students on admissions requirements; Offer professional or technical assistance and conduct introductory seminars for prospective students where needed.• Promote RPharm (Rural Pharmacy Program) through attendance at county/state fairs and other appropriate rural venues.• Assist with the Summer Pharmacy Institute.• Collaborate with the college Urban Health Program (UHP) on recruitment at HBCU and H.S.I. Institutions.• Work with Rockford Public School District to showcase health care related fields to students.• Work with Student Pharmacy Ambassadors for recruitment and interview initiatives.• Meet with prospective students in Chicago and Rockford on a regular basis.• Participate on the admission committee as an ex officio member.• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications• A minimum of a related Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Higher Education, Health Professions, Communications, Counseling, or related field is preferred• A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in higher education setting, student recruiting, admissions or graduate/professional advising, counseling or related experience is required• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. Public speaking experience and strong organization skills are strongly preferred• Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity to working with diverse populations and demonstrable ability of an awareness and sensitivity to socio-ethnic and cultural communication styles is required• Demonstrable ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems, initiate and implement projects independently is required• Frequent travel, with heightened travel requirements during peak recruiting seasons (August - November and February – April) locally, statewide, and nationally and the ability to travel overnight at least 60% of the time over designated recruitment territory (local and national) is required. Regular travel to both Chicago and Rockford campus is required.• Strong knowledge of student development and academic programming. Working knowledge of university / college academic and financial policies, academic admissions and records policies and procedures is highly preferred.• Membership in professional organizations such as the Illinois Association for College Admissions Counseling (IACAC), the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), or the Illinois Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers (IACRAO) is preferred.For fullest consideration, submit a cover letter of interest and a current resume/cv by May 4, 2023 plus the contact information for three professional references.Please ensure the application is fully completed and all supporting documents have been uploaded before the posting date and before submitting the application.
