If this proof is not provided within this timeframe, the offer may be rescinded or employment terminated.Position Summary/Purpose of Position:The Application Database Administrator (DBA) is a member of Enterprise Data Services (EDS) in the Division of Information Technology (DIT) at the University of Maryland, College Park. The position has responsibility for providing comprehensive database optimization and administration for enterprise level, cross-campus services.The position is responsible for• Configuring and maintaining MSSQL (cluster on Prem, Azure, AWS) , Postgres databases (AWS RDS) ,Oracle (AWS RDS) and Redshift data warehouse platform, including monitoring of database health, database performance, availability, deployment, backup and recovery , security (audit), Optimization and SQL tuning.• Analyzing and guiding customers with SQL , T-SQL , PostgreSQL Queries for the Application requirements which includes writing of SQL , T-SQl and PostgreSQL• Providing 24x7 support for critical production systems. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.• Working knowledge of AWS and Azure architecture, modern data stack and tools for the data lifecycle.• Implementing scripting, and automation tasks (SSIS)This position is considered an essential position and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergencies to help maintain continuity of University services.
