The primary function of this position is to monitor network traffic, activity logs and systems alerts for trends, anomalies, intrusion attempts and potential breaches. They would also identify, collect, analyze, interpret, and assist in the development of security metrics and reports as well as ongoing vulnerability assessments.In the event of an incident the Information Security Analyst would serve as the primary coordinator for a response. This would include performing network and system forensic investigation, malware analysis, documentation, and final reporting. This position would also oversee the management of the systems that manage logging, analysis, and incident response. This includes the SIEM, syslog servers, net flow aggregation systems, vulnerability assessment, and other analytic platforms. In addition, this position would mentor student employees or other IT employees in proper security procedures and practices.The Information Security Senior Analyst will have advanced knowledge of enterprise security architecture and the ability to not only run these enterprise systems but also design and implement them for Information Security and other units in IT. The Senior Analyst would supervise students or other Security Analysts and would help them develop appropriate Information security skills. In addition to incident based forensic investigation the Senior Analyst would also work with the CISO and General Counsel to assist in litigation holds, data discovery, or other administrative enquires. This position level would also assist campus entities in cyber risk assessments and remediation procedures.Required QualificationsInformation Security AnalystBachelor's Degree and (2) years of related work experience; ORMaster's Degree and one (1) year related work experience.Related Experience: Experience in cyber security incident management, malware analysis, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, computer and network forensics, software design or development or related experience.Information Security Senior AnalystBachelor's Degree and (4) years of related work experience; ORMaster's Degree and one (2) years related work experience.Related Experience: Experience in cyber security incident management, malware analysis, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, computer and network forensics, software design or development.
