The University of New Mexico (UNM) School of Medicine Department of Dermatology seeks a skilled Board-certified/eligible Mohs Micrographic Surgeon-General Dermatologist. We serve a large, medically complex population and function as the consultation source for the entire rural state of New Mexico (population 2.2 million). Many of our patients present with very challenging pathology/skin malignancies and/or clinical context due to lack of access and other social determinants of health. Our Department provides excellent high-quality care in general and pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery/Mohs as well as phototherapy, laser, and aesthetic services. We have built an exceedingly collaborative team of engaged and energetic faculty, residents, and staff, including our Veterans Affairs and Dermatopathology faculty colleagues. We have a strong and consistent partnership with Medical/Surgical Oncology (at our comprehensive NCI-designated Cancer Center), Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery, and community/referring dermatologists and primary care providers throughout the state. Responsibilities include: outpatient Mohs micrographic surgery, procedural and cutaneous oncology, general dermatology; weekend/call coverage for Mohs surgery vs. general dermatology to be determined.The UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC) is the only academic health complex in the state and is located in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico.
