Job DescriptionCome join the staff at OU HSC and become a part of Oklahoma's premier research university which leads the state in education and career opportunities!Duties• Responsible for strategic program development, implementation and administration.• Directs program administration, overseeing all budgets, interpreting policies and procedures, and supervision of staff .• Monitors projects, program evaluation, and development of long-range plans.• Writes grants and contract proposals and manages grants and contracts.• Serves on various committees and represents the unit to public and client groups.• Ensures the evaluation of programs and instruction.• Directs and plans for needs assessment of client groups.• Develops unit & divisional goals and objectives.• Oversees project management.• Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.Job RequirementsRequired Education: Masters degree, AND:• 36 months of program administration or related experience.Equivalency/Substitution: will accept 72 months of related experience in lieu of the Masters degree for a total of 108 months of related experience.Skills• Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff• Proficient in Microsoft Office• Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines• Able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations• Able to effectively evaluate projects & programs and produce comprehensive reports• Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively• Strong initiative to solve problems• Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives• Grant and contract management skillsCertifications• Valid Drivers LicenseAdvertised Physical Requirements• Physical: Ability to engage in repetitive motions.• Environmental: Standard Office Environment. Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. May be required to travel. May require contact with other departments and university officials.Departmental Preferences• Develops and manages the budget for internal pilot programs.• Takes a leadership role in all large, complex, or multi-PI grant submissions.• Updates Director and leadership on activities of Proposal Services Core. Communicates with Principal Investigators and the University Office of Research Administration regarding grant proposal submissions.• Presents information regarding grant proposal submissions to groups.• Attends grant proposal planning meetings and proposal writing groups, as needed.• Conducts analysis of Proposal Services Core metrics and reports results to Director. Reviews complex RFAs, RFPs, and other funding announcements and provides advice to leadership and investigative teams about grant application requirements.• Will assist with Key Performance Indicator statistics for the HHDC.• Coordinates report preparation and/or submission of reports to sponsors, Research Programs and Leadership.• Performs various forms of research, information gathering, problem solving, and interpretation of policies and procedures related to grant and contract proposals.• Assists in office efforts to identify funding opportunities.• Performs financial analyses for report preparation, to improve departmental accounting procedures, at the request of department head, etc.• Analyzes terms of contracts to ensure compliance.• Assists in the annual budget preparation.Why You Belong at the University of Oklahoma: The University of Oklahoma fosters an inclusive culture of respect and civility, belonging, and access, which are essential to our collective pursuit of excellence and our determination to change lives.
