Job Summary The Employee Engagement Specialist coordinates and supports a wide range of belonging and employee engagement initiatives. These initiatives support employee and organizational effectiveness, including the institutional employee recognition program, logistics of employee resource groups events, leads the Affinity Groups, marketing and messaging, and coordinate initiatives that address identified workforce needs using institutional measuring tools/surveys. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Provide assistance to the day-to-day operations of the institutional employee recognition program to include, but not limited, monitoring recognition program tool, tracking nominations and rewards, and following up with key stakeholders. • Assist with logistics of employee resource groups and lead UTA’s affinity groups to include but not limited to creating governance, organizing events, and interacting with key stakeholders. • Create and manage initiatives that actively address needs identified in the institution’s Employee Satisfaction Survey and/or other institutional measuring tools/surveys. • Responsible for creating content and presenting information at the new employee orientation sessions related to employee engagement opportunities and coordinating this initiative. • Gather and analyze data to prepare standard reports, scorecards, presentations, and key metrics utilizing data from both PeopleAdmin and PeopleSoft. • Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience working with affinity groups and/or employee resource groups and employee recognition programs OR equivalent work experience • Experience presenting in front of people & creating content for presentations Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, psychology, or related field and/or a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in employee engagement, human resources, leadership development, organizational development, talent management, or related experience. • Experience coordinating meeting, events, and logistics of events. • Three to four (3-4 years) of experience working with affinity groups and/or employee resource groups • Three to four (3-4 year’s) of experience working with employee recognition programs Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Must be able to foster cooperative relationships with employees across the institution. • Ability to contribute to a positive work environment. • Ability to collaborate with others to proactively identify and provide optimal solutions. • Ability to fully engage in effective communication and knowledge sharing. • Possesses a strong customer-focused mindset that demonstrates active and attentive understanding and responsive problem-solving. Effectiveness at leading through influence across multiple competing stakeholder groups, with above-average communication skills, both written and as a presenter. • Ability to facilitate and persuade, especially when encouraging collaboration and innovation, and evangelizing people to get behind new processes and technology. • Demonstrated ability to adhere to policies and processes to ensure consistent quality of service. • Tact, diplomacy, and discretion always required. • Professional appearance and demeanor.
