About the Role:

Upgrade is looking for a Senior Analyst in Upgrade Card to manage Credit strategy & analytics. In this role, you will partner with Upgrade Card's acquisition & portfolio management strategy to review and enhance Upgrade Card's strategy that can deliver target investor yields. Upgrade Card is Upgrade's flagship product that is recognized as one of the fastest-growing US credit cards by outstanding balances, according to the Nilson Report.

Please note that this is a hybrid role based in our downtown San Francisco office, with onsite work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with Upgrade Card’s Acquisition or Portfolio management team to review and enhance Upgrade Card's credit strategy using machine learning and predictive modeling.
  • Build a deep understanding of Upgrade Card’s business strategy, customers, investors and partners.
  • Develop and manage periodic insights & analytics templates to executive management, and Upgrade Investor teams.
  • Develop templates and KPI that measures lifetime value of Upgrade’s customer.
  • Monitor various A/B tests to understand sensitivity around line and pricing, and make recommendations based on the findings.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and BI to find opportunities in improving current KPIs and tracking to optimize funnel and customer experience.
  • Utilize advanced statistical techniques, and predictive modeling to analyze large datasets and develop credit risk strategies and influence portfolio management decisions.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex problems and address challenges in credit strategy and analytics.

 

What We Look For:

  •   2-5 years of work experience in Analytics, Data Modeling, and Data Provisioning (acquisition from various sources, transformation and sharing) role.
  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematical Finance, Economics, Business Analytics or related quantitative or interdisciplinary field.
  • Advanced experience in SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Python or R.
  • Experience with Tableau and/or other BI/data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Interested in learning LLM, GenAI tools.
  • Basic knowledge and interest in the data science domain.
  • An assertive and motivated leader capable of identifying new opportunities, spearheading projects, navigating uncertainty, and devising inventive solutions with minimal direction.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to discuss / present complex issues in a simple manner.
  • Proactive, driven, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The compensation range of this position in San Francisco, CA is $120,000 - $140,000 USD annually plus equity and benefits. Within this range, an individual's base pay will be dependent on a variety of factors, including without limitation, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
