Lead Data Scientist
Upwork is looking for a Lead Data Scientist to contribute to data-driven decision making, drive insights, and partner cross functionally to improve user experiences and accelerate platform growth.
Skills
- Strong SQL skills
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with experimentation (A/B testing, causal inference)
- Ability to turn data insights into compelling narratives
- Previous experience in a marketplace or e-commerce business
Responsibilities
- Tackle complex problems in a global marketplace
- Deliver insights to drive product strategy
- Understand Product, Marketing, and Trust & Safety efforts to build robust models
- Apply data science techniques to unveil deep insights into the customer journey
- Deploy prototype models into production to customize experiences
- Evangelize advanced data science techniques and mentor others
Education
- Degree in Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or similar domain
Benefits
- Annual base salary range of $177,750 - $209,250 USD
- Annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan
- Eligibility for long term equity incentive program
