The State Guard Association of the United States (SGAUS) is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Publicist to help increase our organization's visibility and brand awareness. The Publicist will be responsible for creating and distributing engaging social media content, crafting compelling press releases, and promoting SGAUS officers as spokespeople for media and news... outlets. Responsibilities: •Social Media Content Creation: Develop and publish two engaging social media posts per week across our platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) to highlight SGAUS initiatives, events, and accomplishments. • Press Release Writing: Draft and distribute two well-written press releases per month to announce important news, partnerships, or achievements. • Media Outreach: Identify and pitch relevant media contacts and news outlets for interviews, features, or opinion pieces with SGAUS officers. • Spokesperson Promotion: Proactively promote SGAUS officers as subject matter experts and thought leaders in relevant fields through social media, media outreach, and speaking opportunities. • Brand Consistency: Ensure all communications adhere to SGAUS brand guidelines and messaging. Requirements: • Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in public relations, communications, or a related field. • Excellent Writing Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences. • Social Media Savvy: Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices for engagement and content creation. • Media Relationships: Existing relationships with media contacts and news outlets is a plus. • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. • Passion for SGAUS: A genuine interest in SGAUS's mission and goals. About SGAUS: The mission of the State Guard Association of the United States (SGAUS) is to advocate for the advancement and support of regulated state military forces established by state governments under the authority of Title 32, Section 109, of the United States Code. These units are typically called state defense forces, state guards, or state military reserves and are regulated by state law and operational guidance provided by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, NORAD, and NORTHCOM
