The Senior Accountant - Supply Chain is responsible for leading processes for end-to-end monthly accounting, financial, tax reporting activities, and ad hoc report analysis for GAMPAC and the Transportation & Logistics team. The role is the financial subject... matter expert while supporting the GAMPAC President, VP of Sales, and Director of Operations as well as collaborating with the Shared Business Services teams.
This position has been segmented as Hybrid meaning there is a combination of three onsite days per week and the rest remote.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for complex accounting activities related to maintenance of complete and accurate general ledger, reports, and financial statements including month-end journal entries and financial statements (profit & loss, balance sheet)
- Provide accurate and timely delivery of financial results for internal and external (SEC) reporting requirements through a robust monthly/quarterly close process
- Develop and maintain databases to support and facilitate accounting and reconciliation activities, including follow-up with Operations and Accounts Payable/Receivable teams
- Review departmental actual expense versus budget and issue monthly variance statements along with explanations of significant variances
- Presentation of monthly results of financial and operation performance metrics versus current plan and forecast to leadership team
- Facilitate annual planning process
- Perform regular weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, and ad hoc reporting and analysis including monthly sales commissions calculations and payouts and annual 1099 reporting submission
- Document and implement financial controls, policies and procedures
- Compile and provide audit workpapers as requested by internal and external auditors
- Own the SOX efforts in assigned areas ensuring prudent compliance and work with internal and external auditors
- Respond to complex questions within existing policies and procedures exercising independent judgment
- Other duties as assigned by manager

- Internal: GAMPAC Leaders and associates, Finance and Accounting Leaders and associates, SBS Leaders and associates
- External: Auditors
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or other relevant area.
- Advanced skills using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Prioritization/Organization/Multi-tasking - Able to organize work and meet deadlines as well as assist others with their planning
- Attention to Detail - Regularly provides work that is accurate, thorough and consistent
- Communication - Strong verbal and written communication to a variety of audiences
- Strong analytical skills of complex information
- Solves complex problems independently
- Works independently on most assignments and has ideas for improvement
- Collaborate well with team members
- Strong interpersonal skills and working relationships at all levels of organization
- Travel - 5% or less
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- MA/MBA
- CPA
