Come be a part of what makes us so special!The OpportunityAs a dedicated Senior Asset Liability Management Advisor, you will be responsible for the modeling, analysis, reporting, monitoring and management of USAA's interest rate risk (IRR) position and for developing, documenting, and testing of assumptions used in the Bank ALM model for interest rate risk and funds transfer pricing. Serve as a key subject matter expert for interest rate risk management within the USAA Bank or across the enterprise. Provide periodic updates on forecasted balances, income or expense and funds transfer pricing for loan and deposits to partners within the lines of business and/or Bank FP&A. Prepare clear response documents to address effective challenge from second line of defense, internal and external auditors, regulators and other business partners as needed. This position will work in close partnership with the other Asset/Liability Management (ALM) teams within the enterprise and USAA Bank lines of businesses.We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based in our Charlotte NC, Plano TX or San Antonio TX location.Relocation assistance is not available for this position.What you'll do:• Measures, monitors, and controls interest rate exposures for USAA Bank.• Develops and manages analytical models to explain the change in values of assets and liabilities and provides attribution and sensitivity analyses for all inputs and assumptions that may drive gains or losses.• Provides management with sufficient information to manage USAA Bank or Enterprise's interest rate risk process.• Develops recommendations for hedging strategies to mitigate exposures in excess of tolerances. May generate Board of Directors Interest Rate Risk Management reporting packages as well as Corporate or Line of Business ALCO packages.• Monitors, researches, analyzes, and communicates the requirements and impacts of regulations affecting interest rate risk management and reporting activities,• Maintains policies and procedures for Bank interest rate risk management.• Develops implementation strategies and recommendations, and serves as a subject matter expert on Bank implementation efforts.• Represent Bank ALM in collaboration with others such as Line of Business Interest Rate Risk Managers, Senior Financial Officers, Financial Planning and Analysis, External Reporting, Controllers, Project Management, and Risk Management across Bank and/or the Enterprise.• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.What you have:• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field required; OR 4 additional years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.• 6 years of experience in a corporate treasury, investment or finance position in banking or insurance OR an advanced degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative discipline or CFA/FRM and 4 years experience in a corporate treasury, investment or finance position.• 3 years in a position with experience directly related to asset liability management, interest rate risk and funds transfer pricing.• Experience with large asset liability systems or industry standard financial modeling software (such as QRM, Bancware, Empyrean, etc.).• Familiarity with the interest rate risk management requirements of a Bank or Insurance Holding Company.• Relevant mathematical skills and working knowledge as they relate to modeling and valuation of fixed income instruments and/or derivatives.• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.• Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements that may include OCC, FDIC, NAIC, Basel III, ORSA and the Federal Reserve's regulations.What sets you apart:• 5 Years experience managing and reporting on interest rate risk at financial institution(s) regulated by the Federal Reserve and/or OCC and/or NCUA.• 3 years of experience in a position with bank retail products (credit cards, consumer loans, retail deposits) and bank investments portfolio book (mortgage-backed securities, collateralized mortgage obligations, treasuries, municipals, swaps).• 3 Years experience with asset/liability management software (QRM, Bancware, Empyrean and applicable systems).• Familiarity with ORACLE Financial Services Funds Transfer Pricing.• US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.The above description reflects the details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job experience and should not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be performed in the job.What we offer:Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
