About the role:
Morning Brew is looking for a passionate UX Researcher and team player who will help establish and evolve UX Research and contribute to the success of product design at our company. You will set the tone for UX Research at Morning Brew. You will uncover any and all unmet and unstated needs of our users and establish and maintain a constant, growing and evolving user feedback loop.
You will work directly with the product designers and product managers across multiple squads to help uncover and define user needs, analyze data gathered through various research methods and analytics and validate whether or not digital transformation efforts are meeting the needs of our users.
This role sits in the Product team and reports to the Director of Product Design.
What you'll do:
- Identify the proper research methods needed to best meet the needs of the goals of the problems we are trying to understand.
- Conduct or support primary user research studies with business stakeholders and users to gain user insights around met, unmet, stated and unstated needs.
- Conduct or support secondary research efforts including analytics, user recordings and feedback, survey results, internal usage reports, and others.
- Validate concepts and prototypes to uncover additional insights and opportunities.
- Translate research data gathered into actionable recommendations that help inform future efforts and can deliver recommendations to business partners and leaders in a consumable and delightful manner.
- Define user research methods that most effectively inform strategic direction on future and current transformation efforts.
About you:
- 3-4 years of experience of UX Research for online media or similar industry.
- Expertise in common research tools and design tools (we use Figma).
- You are familiar with and have used a variety of unmoderated online research tools but are just as comfortable in a moderated setting.
- Experience in driving comprehensive user research programs, including researching user needs throughout the entire product development process, usability studies, and informing the product direction and strategy.
- Robust knowledge of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
- Proven ability to generate and validate innovative design ideas that align with research findings
- Ability to lead and work well with cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, designers and stakeholders.
- Experience in content strategy.
