Vanilla is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Finance Manager to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), experience in SaaS business models, and proficiency in Salesforce. Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Finance Manager will play a key role in driving strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes and will provide valuable insights to support decision-making across the organization. This role requires a proactive and analytical thinker who can manage complex financial models, communicate effectively with senior leadership, and drive financial performance to meet our company’s growth objectives.
This position is based in the Greater Seattle area.
Drive the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting, and long-term strategic planning. Develop and maintain financial models to provide comprehensive financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives.
Develop and monitor key financial and operational metrics, including ARR, CAC and LTV:CAC, analyzing variances and trends to provide actionable insights.
Use Salesforce to extract, analyze, and report on sales data, customer metrics, and pipeline management. Ensure integration of Salesforce data with financial systems for accurate reporting and analysis.
Collaborate with the sales team to develop pricing strategies, sales targets, and incentive plans.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, bookings, sales commissions, and variance analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
Partner with key stakeholders across the organization, including sales, marketing, customer success, and operations teams, to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Analyze and monitor operating expenses, headcount, and other cost drivers. Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives, such as M&A activities, fundraising, or system implementations, as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance or FP&A, with at least 3 years in a senior finance role within a SaaS or technology company.
Proficient in financial modeling and analysis.
Advanced Excel skills are required; experience with financial planning software is a plus.
Strong experience with Salesforce CRM, including reporting and dashboard creation.
In-depth understanding of SaaS business models, key metrics (e.g., ARR, MRR, churn rates, CAC, LTV:CAC)
Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving. Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders clearly and effectively.
Experience managing projects, and driving cross-functional collaboration. Ability to influence and build strong relationships at all organizational levels.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
