Junior Developer - NSCC Placement

A Junior Developer’s focus is on learning how to navigate within the CMS, while also learning the overall VERB

process of website building. They design components, work on templating, and configure and design layouts.

What You Will Do...

  • Create and maintain components of web-based platforms
  • Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
  • Participate in regular project stand-ups and sprint reviews
  • Accurately produce frontend components using creative mock-ups
  • Populate content in a variety of frameworks
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improving builds/process to Dev team
  • Track projects and record time sheets using Jira
  • Collaborate in a team environment and take direction from leadership
  • 0-3 years of professional experience 
  • Post-secondary education with a focus in IT, web development or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Comfortable using CLI 
  • Basic Git knowledge and experience with branching and merging processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate project, task status and any issues to internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly organized with the ability to function in a fast-paced business environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Self-directed troubleshooting abilities
  • Eagerness to grow and learn, and demonstrates excitement about the job and its challenges
