Vice President - Prime Risk Manager

VICE PRESIDENT - PRIME RISK MANAGER (JOB NUMBER: COO000418)


Business Overview:

Through our Global Equities and Prime Services franchise, BNP Paribas is committed to serving clients with a full suite of investor services, from trading to financing, clearing and custody. Prime Brokerage (PB) Risk within Prime Services is responsible for margin methodology, communicating methodology to clients, client negotiations, portfolio exposure monitoring, exposure reporting to senior management, engaging with RISK Department on client-specific deal approvals.

Responsibilities:


  • Clients communications (explaining platform margin capabilities, working on client specific financing solutions)
  • Daily clients portfolio exposure management
  • Development and back-testing of margin methodologies
  • Liaising with and directing technology implementation of margin methodologies
  • Designing and implementing client-friendly and internal margin reports
  • Designing risk monitoring framework
  • Working with technology on implementation of front office risk system
  • Reporting of significant risk exposures to senior management


Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Five years minimum exposure to financial markets and risk analytics
  • Prime Brokerage Front Office Experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong communication skills
  • Understanding of various risk concepts (VaR, liquidity, concentration, risk exposures of different asset classes including derivatives)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with risk systems
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Team Player

The expected starting salary range for this position in New York (or if the location is in New Jersey we’ll indicate New Jersey) is between $200,000 to $225,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
