Principal Commissions Analyst

The Principal Commissions Analyst is a strategic and senior member of the Revenue & Operations organization. This role is responsible for the comprehensive end-to-end management and oversight of global commission processes. The individual will enhance and automate these processes, ensuring consistent, timely, and accurate payment of commissions. With advanced technical proficiency and hands-on experience in CaptivateIQ, the Principal Commissions Analyst will lead the development and execution of sophisticated commission plans and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Commission Process Ownership:
    • Complete ownership of the end-to-end global commissions process, from plan builds to final payment.
    • Lead and manage the technical and operational aspects of CaptivateIQ, including rule creation, configuration, and data administration.
    • Enhance automation within the commissions process to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Technical and Reporting Leadership:
    • Design, develop, and maintain complex commission models and rule configurations within CaptivateIQ.
    • Conduct comprehensive user-acceptance testing of new commission plan builds to ensure precision and effectiveness.
    • Create and manage advanced reports and dashboards for Sales Leadership and Management to track and measure sales performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing high-level consulting support to sales management on various sales compensation issues.
    • Collaborate with Finance to enhance commission forecast accuracy and provide actionable insights and trends to support decision-making.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to address commission-related inquiries and resolve data disputes efficiently.
    • Participate in the annual commission plan design, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and growth strategies.
  • Sales Plan Management:
    • Own the distribution and management of sales plans within CaptivateIQ, ensuring the accuracy of target incentives, quotas, and document tracking.
  • Process Improvement and Compliance:
    • Maintain robust controls for commission-related processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
    • Own and manage commission audits to ensure the integrity and reliability of commission data and processes.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the sales commissions workflow, aligning with company growth objectives.

Key Characteristics:

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Advanced proficiency in CaptivateIQ, with hands-on experience in building and managing complex commission plans.
    • Skilled in developing and implementing sophisticated commission models and workflows.
  • Organizational Skills:
    • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Effective Communication:
    • Demonstrates strong communication skills, effectively conveying information and fostering collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in commissions management or equivalent roles, preferably within high-growth technology or SaaS environments.
  • Proven hands-on experience with CaptivateIQ is essential; strong knowledge of Salesforce CRM and Excel is required.
  • Exhibits advanced technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of developing and implementing sophisticated commission models and workflows.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels, both in written and verbal forms.
  • Proven track record of working independently and collaboratively within a team, ensuring timely delivery in a fast-paced environment with business-critical deadlines.
  • Experience identifying areas for process improvement and implementing effective solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in commission processes.

Targeted Base Salary Range:  $105,300 - $160,500

The base salary range listed above is for candidates located in the U.S., including the New York City metro area.
