Role Overview
The Vinyl Quality Control Assembler position is responsible for the quality testing and fitting of Western Shelter products. This person will complete tasks such as assembling and disassembling shelter walls, roofs, and floors to confirm proper fit and function. They will inspect all products and materials to ensure high quality and document and report defects. This position will lift, clean, fold, pack and stage for inventory finished vinyl goods. The production environment is fast paced and requires a high attention to detail. This position reports to the Vinyl & Sewing Production Manager.
Responsibilities

Assemble vinyl shelters including roofs, floors, walls, doors, etc..

Inspect zippers, seams, vinyl welds, velcro fittings and all accessories.

Physically ensure fit and function of all products and accessories.

Visually inspect, test and measure materials and ensure measurements are correct by utilizing approved drawings.

Clean finished vinyl products in preparation for final shipment.

Fold and roll products into packaging.
-
Approve finished products by confirming specifications, return products for re-work and confirm re-work was successfully completed. Report quality concerns to department Lead or Supervisor.

Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarize re-work and waste, input data into quality database.

Check production materials to locate imperfections such as incorrect lengths, cuts, scratches, missing pieces, crooked seams etc..

Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, comply with regulatory and statutory regulations.

Keep workplace clean, tidy and in good condition.

Return all tools and equipment to their designated spot after each use.

Regularly inspect, clean equipment, notify supervisor and/or facilities maintenance immediately of machines or equipment needing repair or maintenance, and take any damaged or worn tools out of service.

Support quality objectives for the Quality Department as they pertain to company’s KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
- Support and adhere to all ISO and audit requirement as well as Continual Improvement initiatives through Lean Training and Kaizen events.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to consistently lift and move up to 50 pounds of material without assistance throughout work shift. Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance from others.

Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)

Previous experience in manufacturing Quality Control preferred
