Role Overview

The Quality Control position maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, conducting in-process inspections, and conducting inspections on finished products for CrewBoss. This person will complete tasks such as running tests, keeping a record of defects, maintain results, analyzing products, and overseeing procedures. The production environment is fast paced and requires a high attention to detail. This position reports to the CrewBoss Quality Control and Quick Turn Supervisor.



Responsibilities

  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for calibration and repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with regulatory and statutory regulations.
  • Keep workplace clean, tidy and in good condition.
  • Return all tools and equipment to their designated spot after each use.
  • Regularly inspect, clean equipment, notify supervisor and/or facilities maintenance immediately of machines or equipment needing repair or maintenance, and take any damaged or worn tools out of service.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Support quality objectives for the Quality Department and Quick Turn line as they pertain to companys KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Support and adhere to all ISO and audit requirement as well as Continual Improvement initiatives through Lean Training and Kaizen events.
  • Acts as a role model to production workers with regard to ISO 9001 and quality rules and policies.
  • Manage processes, manufacturing methods and procedures, as applicable
  • Promote process improvement.
  • Support innovation and continual improvement.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/ move up to 50 pounds of material without assistance. Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance from others
  • Ability to sit, bend or stand for long periods of time
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced



Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience in manufacturing Quality Control preferred
