Job Description

Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) is a world-class organization responsible for growing all flows between businesses and governments, from SMBs to the largest global corporations.  The Core Products and Platforms team (LMM and SMB) is part of VCS and works closely with financial institutions and fintechs to bring payment solutions that meet the needs of growth corporates, large enterprises, multinationals, governments, public sector entities, and small businesses around the world.  The team is responsible for the product development and management of a suite of products, encompassing core products such as Fleet, Travel, Purchasing, Virtual Cards, Small Business, as well as new B2B payment offerings and emerging verticals such as Employee Benefits, providing innovative payment capabilities that exceed client expectations.

The Director, Flexible Interchange Program Product Management plays a crucial role in shaping Visa’s Flexible Interchange solutions to more aggressively capture B2B payment flows for Visa and our clients. The role is responsible for the Visa Commercial Choice (VCC) suite, a set of flexible interchange products that enable our issuing clients to capture incremental payment volume by establishing mutually beneficial economic terms with commercial suppliers.  This role will lead product strategy, management, development, market positioning and commercialization for the full VCC suite to advance this program globally.  This role will also be responsible for product strategy, management, development and commercialization of the Purchasing Large Ticket (PLT) program, which addresses our clients’ needs to capture high value payments on card. 

In addition to enhancing the VCC and PLT products, the Director will lead the design, development and implementation of new and differentiated pricing solutions to further accelerate Visa’s capture of B2B payment volume. 

The ideal candidate is an experienced senior product leader with the ability to inspire and motivate teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.  He/she must have proven experience in developing and leading teams to commercialize innovative products that deliver substantial value propositions to the market.  This role requires strategic leadership, innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.  He/she is creative and hands-on, has a bias towards action and is able to inspire others with his/her vision.

This role requires breadth of knowledge and experience in commercial/B2B payments.  In addition to traditional product management experience, the ideal candidate will have prior experience with Interchange and/or Pricing frameworks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Strategy and Development (VCC,PLT, and new/differentiated pricing solutions):

  • Define the overall product vision and strategic goals for each Flexible Interchange product and solution

  • Develop product narratives and key value propositions

  • Define and prioritize features, enhancements and capabilities, develop product roadmaps, and ensure alignment to overall product vision

  • Interface with tech teams and managed development

  • Collaborate with regional partners to understand and translate customer and market needs into product solutions that deliver substantial value propositions

  • Collaborate with B2B Acceptance team, global platform owners as well as core technology teams on the planning, prioritization and execution of the product roadmaps 

  • Interfacing with Tech and managing development

  • Ensure the product strategy and product roadmaps are aligned and well-articulated to customers, prospects and partners, as well as internally within Visa

  • Oversee and manage key commercialization activities to support regional GTM strategies

  • Establish and codify processes to ensure a simplified sales, implementation and onboarding model to support scale

  • Educate and empower regional teams to drive client adoption & market penetration

  • Monitor product performance, enhance KPI dashboards, derive intelligence to ensure data driven decision making

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
•10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8
years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA
/JD/MD), or a minimum of 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
•12 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of
experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), or PhD
with 6+ years of experience
•MBA or Advanced Degree is highly desirable
•Deep product management experience within commercial/B2B payments
•Prior experience developing/managing Global Issuance/Multinational
programs
•Experienced product leader with a record of accomplishment for creating and
developing new product capabilities from initial concept to industry leadership
•Proven track record of developing and executing a product vision for
successful products based on a deep understanding of customer needs
•Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and
identify new opportunities to innovate and differentiate with evidence of
tangible business results
•Experience managing and developing strong partnership with technology
teams to influence and co-create shared roadmaps
•Effective leadership and people management skills, with a focus on developing
diverse, high performing teams and fostering an inclusive culture that is
inquisitive and collaborative
•Excellent ability to develop and communicate strategy, and secure internal
investment for products
•Natural collaborator, with excellent communication skills and strong executive
presence
•Self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and
competence to influence across multiple levels and organizations including
internal and external stakeholders

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 151,600 to 258,750 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
