Job Description

Shopping habits of Consumers have been changing – transacting online is becoming more popular than face to face, we are shopping on many different devices and, have more choices available to pay for goods / services. Visa is not only creating fit for purpose capabilities to benefit from these changes, but also shaping and accelerating the shift by designing new payment experiences. Visa is heavily investing in its Design Team to help support its growing digital product line. We are looking for a Senior Staff Designer to join our team to help shape the future of payments.

This role is housed within a commercial team responsible for bringing new products or, proposition to life and, would report to a business leader responsible for driving business outcome. In this role, you will be the design and research lead for selected projects and, will have few designers reporting into you. Responsibilities:

  •  Conceptualize, design and research new payment experiences centered around payer and payee.
  • Visa’s business is primarily B2B but it has a strong focus on end user experience. In your day to day, you would be creating user experience and user interfaces that will bring it life Visa capabilities for its B2B Clients but, also design with the end users in mind. Hence, you be an advocate for our users.
  • You will work on different payment experience such improving authentication in online transactions, interactions with digital identities or, translating Visa’s insights from data into real world examples.
  • Your senior stakeholders would be from the function of product leadership, account executive or your own team leadership.
  • Exercise independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor.
  • Own and make design decisions based on a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design principles.
  • Collaborate with our cross-functional product and business teams and build upon their vision using sound design principles to ensure alignment and project success.
  • Capture requirements, design flows, wireframes, prototypes and fully fleshed out designs.
  • Document designs and consult with engineers to ensure they are built and function as intended.
  • Effectively demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  •  Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Payments industry experience
  • Subject matter expertise in Interaction Design.
  • Subject matter expertise in Accessibility (WCAG) a plus.
  • Experience launching world-class digital products and services.
  • Experience conducting usability tests (including with users with disabilities) a plus.
  • Proficiency designing high-fidelity mockups using Figma, or other industry tools.
  • Proficiency designing and developing prototypes using Framer, InVision or other industry tools.
  • Experience in running client engagements, demonstrating excellence in presentation polish, and strong client orientation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including thorough and methodical attention to detail.
  • Fully fluent in English and able to understand and be easily understood in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to communicate concepts and recommendations confidently to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to self-manage time and work independently or as part of a product team.
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates outstanding product and system thinking.
