The Maintenance Technician at Vorbeck will be responsible for performing general maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of facility systems, machinery, and equipment within the manufacturing facility. This role requires hands-on work and a proactive approach to equipment upkeep to ensure the smooth and continuous operation of all systems. The technician will play a key role in maintaining the functionality of both mechanical and building systems and will collaborate with other departments to support overall production goals.
Facility Maintenance & Inspections: Perform regular inspections and maintenance on facility systems, including production equipment, building infrastructure, safety systems, and utilities, to ensure they are operating effectively.
Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair facility issues related to machinery, mechanical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and building infrastructure to minimize downtime and restore equipment functionality.
Commissioning & Early Operations Support: Assist with the commissioning and early-stage operation of the plant, ensuring all systems are tested and functioning as required, and support the transition from initial setup to full operational status.
Preventive Maintenance: Manage and schedule routine preventive maintenance activities to reduce unplanned downtime, extend the life of equipment, and ensure smooth operations.
Work Area Organization & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and comply with local safety codes, OSHA regulations, and company policies. Promote a safety-conscious environment by maintaining high safety standards, conducting regular safety audits, and providing ongoing safety training to ensure a safe and productive working environment.
Documentation & Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and system upgrades. Oversee the inventory of maintenance supplies, ensuring timely procurement and availability of necessary parts and materials.
Collaboration & Emergency Response: Work closely with other departments to resolve maintenance issues, support production goals, and enhance equipment performance. Provide on-call support for urgent maintenance issues to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Process Improvement & Risk Management: Identify potential risks or challenges in facility systems and develop strategies to mitigate them. Participate in safety audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
Other Duties as Assigned: Assist with additional tasks or projects as directed by the supervisor, including material handling, facility upgrades, or any other operational needs that arise.
Education
High school diploma or GED required. An Associate’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.
OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is a plus.
Experience
Proven experience in general maintenance, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience with mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and general facility repairs is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for addressing mechanical, plumbing, and other facility-related issues.
Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.
Proficient in the safe operation of tools and equipment used in maintenance tasks.
Strong attention to safety and compliance with workplace safety standards.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform activities such as walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, stair and ladder climbing on a daily basis.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly as part of daily responsibilities.
