Insulet also leverages the unique design of its Pod by tailoring its Omnipod technology platform for the delivery of non-insulin subcutaneous drugs across other therapeutic areas.

Studies have demonstrated the clinical and lifestyle advantages of insulin pump therapy over multiple daily insulin injections (MDI). However, many people still choose MDI therapy largely due to the complexity, cost, and inconvenience of conventional pump technology. The Omnipod is a discreet and easy-to-use system that eliminates many of the issues associated with conventional pumps. By breaking down the barriers to insulin pump therapy, Insulet hopes to provide both a superior treatment option and life-long health benefits for people with insulin-requiring diabetes

Position Overview:

The VP, Chief Information Security Officer will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and is a member of the CTO’s leadership team. This role manages and oversees the information security needs of the organization with a focus on Medical Device Product Security, Cyber Security for IT Systems, IT Compliance, and Data Protection and Global Compliance.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for Medical Device Product Security, Cyber Security for IT Systems, IT Compliance, and Data Protection and Global Compliance
Protect against data & cybersecurity threats as data scales with business and threat surface expands across technologies and global footprint
Develop organization-wide protection strongly focused on digital, data, and technology assets
Information security risk assessment, management and governance
Vulnerability management and continuous monitoring
Compliance with various information security requirements across geographies

Key Decision Rights

Enterprise-wide cyber monitoring, protections, response and investigations
Security risk management. (e.g., information security policies and standards)
Security and risk mgmt. org-wide education, communication, and awareness
Compliance monitoring of data, operations, and product security
Vulnerability discovery and governance

Skills and Competencies:

Ability to adapt security and risk strategies to a fast-moving IT landscape (e.g., evolving external regulations, new products/regions with privacy implications)

Strong cross functional partnership across technology, functions, partners and supply chain
Ability to move enterprise to proactive vs. reactive posture and scale security response across expanding global footprint
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization, while being able to simplify complex topics for understanding and critical decision making by executive management and the Board of Directors

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or information technology (advanced degree preferred)
18-20+ years of experience in Information/Cybersecurity in a public or large private technology company with a global customer base, with 10+ years people management experience
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, security and privacy assessments
Key industry certifications including Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Additional Information

The position can be remote, hybrid or in-person at our Acton, MA headquarters. The preferred location is near San Diego, CA or Acton, MA.
Travel is estimated at 25% but will flex depending on business needs.
NOTE: This position is eligible for 100% remote working arrangements (may work from home/virtually 100%; may also work hybrid on-site/virtual as desired). #LI-remote

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $242,610.00 - $351,780.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
