Condé Nast integrated our U.S. and International businesses in 2019 and has been continuously working to refine growth strategies, accelerate innovation and develop the right organizational structures to meet the rapidly evolving media landscape. Our brands have worldwide influence and impact, and our business is increasingly becoming more global as we continue to innovate in new forms of content, video, events and conferences, agency, consumer products, data, and other brand-aligned projects.
We need to continue our transformation to realize the full potential of Condé Nast for our audiences and business partners, delivering the highest quality journalism, experiences, and value to our audiences, advertisers, and partners while enhancing collaboration between colleagues around the world.
The Transformation & Delivery team sits at the forefront of this continual change, helping to shape, manage and monitor a global portfolio of initiatives spanning people, process, and technology. We are comprised of a Global Program Management Office (GPMO), change management leads, operating model/org design specialists, and program/project managers who scope initiatives, develop project plans, and lead large, cross-functional teams through all phases of the program.
As the VP Global Transformation, you will lead all aspects of the global transformation and delivery function, working closely with senior leaders across the business to understand and identify areas of opportunity, develop our overall transformation strategy and roadmap, and drive implementation. You will lead a group of full-time and contingent staff focused on enabling global transformation initiatives, ensuring the successful delivery of highly complex projects from inception to completion. You will deliver expert-level consulting across key strategic projects, including efficiency and growth initiatives, global technology/systems/platform implementations, workforce location strategy, and operating model design. You will manage the overall Transformation & Delivery budget and resourcing plan, evaluate new proposed initiatives, and help define the go-forward capabilities delivered by this central team.
Given the critical nature of this work, the position reports directly to the Chief of Staff inside the Office of the CEO. Ideal candidates will be comfortable working with all levels of the organization, managing team members in multiple geographies, and be culturally sensitive. You will be an expert in distilling and presenting information to C-Suite executives to support key decisions.
The role is based in New York City but works regularly with colleagues from around the world.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Consult with senior leaders across Condé Nast to develop and manage the company’s overall transformation strategy and roadmap, spanning global people, process, and technology programs.
  • Align on transformation priorities, support the intake of new initiatives, and ensure desired business outcomes are achieved.
  • Manage and lead the Delivery & Transformation team, including the Global Program Management Office (GPMO), ensuring appropriate staffing, capabilities, and resourcing for all related programs and initiatives.
  • Work with Procurement and the relevant business stakeholders to identify and onboard third parties where needed to support transformation initiatives.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on the development of the associated program and project plans, helping team members to manage key milestones and deadlines to drive the execution of large-scale initiatives.
  • Work with Finance to manage and track the overall transformation budget for all included programs and workstreams, collaborating on business case development for transformation initiatives as needed to secure investment and resources.
  • Create and manage portfolio and program-level governance models; manage upward communication and reporting, providing transparency and updates to the executive steering group and broader Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Lead monthly steering group sessions and cross-workstream forums to drive decision-making and alignment within and across the full program portfolio. Proactively identify cross-program and initiative dependencies and intersections that may impact prioritization, sequencing and execution.
  • Identify and monitor risks and issues and remove impediments by anticipating needs and engaging with the right stakeholders to find swift solutions.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
  • 15+ years of business transformation experience, including leading and delivering global strategies and programs involving organizational, workflow/process, and technology to drive efficiencies and growth.
  • Substantial direct project or program management experience, potentially related to acquisitions or mergers or the development/implementation of new operating models and business processes.
  • Tech-savvy with familiarity with the process of establishing business needs, requirements, and timelines for broadscale systems and platform implementations.
  • Consultative approach and the ability to partner deeply with business experts to formulate and drive strategic recommendations for their area(s).
  • Gravitas to work with all levels of the organization, including with C-Suite executives.
  • Strong financial management in the context of projects/programs.
  • Appreciation of cultural and in-country considerations needed for global change programs, including organizational shifts.
  • Self-starter who can formulate complex strategies and implement program management practices quickly.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, ensuring confidence and sensitivity in conflict resolution and the ability to adapt their style to different stakeholders and circumstances.
  • Facilitation of effective working sessions, status meetings, Steering Committing meetings.
  • Experience partnering with multiple vendors and preparing/negotiating SOWs.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience in media, publishing, IP, digital, or entertainment organizations.
  • Experience with or exposure to workforce location strategy programs, including offshore/on-shore/outsourcing options and changes.
  • Experience with broadscale, global technology platform or systems rollouts, e.g., Workday, Salesforce, rights and content management tools, etc.
  • Time spent as a consultant or in a highly consultative internal role.
Base Salary Range: 225-$300K
