VP, Marketing

Reporting into the Consumer Business' Chief Operations Officer, and working closely with the Head of Product, this leader will be able to inspire the existing 30+ team, generate high-impact ideas and has the ability to deliver results across a variety of business objectives. You are a people-first leader that can unlock team and individual superpowers, creating a marketing culture for everyone to thrive and grow.

This seasoned marketing executive will serve as a thought leader in the company and will play an integral role in shaping the company's marketing strategy and drive the company's revenue growth. You are able to balance longer term vision with scrappy - meaning, you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You understand the "do more with less" attitude balanced with making investments to propel the brand forward. Your responsibilities will span brand building, marketing launches, disease and therapeutic recruiting, product marketing, customer acquisition and all media. The organization will be distinguished by its speed of improving results through iteratively testing, learning and optimizing.

In this role, you will work closely with the consumer business leaders within the company to identify areas of growth from a business and audience perspective.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of highly motivated, accomplished and disciplined marketing professionals.
  • Consult and guide all senior marketing leaders in the execution of work across all areas of marketing, including creative, media buying, social, publicity, et al.
  • Drive a culture of constant testing, analysis and learning to discover new and innovative ways to grow revenue and scale marketing efforts.
  • Create and execute a plan to rapidly scale the organization to drive the company's aggressive growth goals [OKRs].
  • Oversee growth levers including acquisition, performance media, and brand building.
  • Work closely with CFO to ensure top line growth and manage to the budget.
  • Work collaboratively with the leaders of Product, Engineering, Data science/Analytics and Operations to plan and deliver on marketing and growth objectives.
  • Establish product marketing processes and teams to leverage consumer data to bring products to life and develop pricing, messaging and positioning strategy for new product launches.
  • Be a team builder, a team player and a leader who creates loyalty, trust, and following.
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional environment.
  • Top line and marketing components of the consumer P&L, hitting revenue and cost budgets.
  • Work closely with Insights and Analytics to evaluate marketing results and constantly iterate.
  • Provide regular updates to the company's senior leadership on business impact of marketing efforts.
  • Inspires and motivates the marketing team via a compelling marketing vision and strategy.

What You'll Bring

  • 15-20+ years leading a D2C marketing team with experience spanning some combination of marketing, growth, product management and business analytics including 5 years at a rapidly growing startup.
  • A "talent magnet" with a strong track record of successfully recruiting and developing performance marketers and building high performing teams.
  • Previously built or overseen the creation of a successful "performance marketing machine," including marketing attribution, media mix modeling, measurement of offline and online performance, scalable processes and reporting systems.
  • Experience driving growth and efficiencies through data-driven acquisition across both online and offline channels, machine learning and ad tech.
  • Data focused and fast decision maker. Relentless driver of rapid iteration, always considering the user experience.
  • Strong intellectual horsepower. Superior abstract reasoning and analytical skills. Creative thinker who finds innovative solutions to obstacles.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal. Articulates concepts in a clear, structured and succinct manner, adjusted for the audience.
  • Results-driven with bias for action and commitment to excellence. Acts with a sense of urgency. Extremely organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Positive, resilient and open to candid feedback. Listens to and considers alternatives but makes clear decisions.
  • High emotional IQ and a strong focus on prioritizing diversity and inclusion across the team.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Led and effectively scaled a marketing function through a period of rapid growth
  • Evidence of exceptional performance or accomplishment
  • Experience marketing and/or subscription marketing a plus
  • Healthcare marketing a plus
  • BS degree required; MBA degree preferred
