As the VP of Media Investment, you will be the face of Media Investment to Goodway Group, overseeing the agency's investment across all paid digital media channels, including programmatic, search, and social, and managing the relationships with our external vendors from a day-to-day standpoint, providing support and guidance across the org.
Through effective partnering with Planning, Media Activation, and other teams, you will lead a team in setting channel/platform best practices, set the standard for excellence for channel/platform buying, and develop enterprise-wide partnerships that deliver maximum strategic value for our clients. We seek a leader who will bring an innovative approach to buying, endless curiosity to identify new opportunities, and an ability to achieve value through strong partner negotiation. You can speak fluently to channel buying tactics, often representing the full media investment team to clients and the marketplace.
What You Will Do:
- Work to develop and roll out go-to-market approach and apply best-in-class systems across the organization.
- Operate as a connective tissue with internal agency capabilities to ensure that all relevant teams know media investment details and have a central point of contact to represent the overall agency investment with a consistent process and approach to marketplace dealings.
- Facilitate communication between Investment and Planning, Activation and other teams to reinforce channel/platform excellence and inform strategy and planning with relevant marketplace intelligence.
- Drive Goodway's overall investment approach forward in the marketplace across the vendor community.
- Actively evaluate & benchmark the marketplace to drive YOY efficiencies and value for the organization.
- Oversee enterprise-wide platform/channel negotiations to maximize value for the agency and our clients.
- Provide thought leadership to the Planning and Activation teams, advising on holistic media approach across linear and digital, including search, social, and programmatic as needed.
- Develop POVs for innovations and opportunities across the media landscape and provide strategically focused insights.
- Foster development and growth of the Investment team staff
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, business administration, and communications; OR equivalent professional work experience
- 15+ years of prior media investment, media buying, and planning experience.
- Experience managing and mentoring staff.
- Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide variety of media partners as well as internal departments, preferably with deep industry relationships with ad tech firms, brand teams, and publisher partners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and build a media investment team.
- Ability to present to clients and leadership at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with intermediate PowerPoint and Word skills
- Excellent understanding of the current media landscape
- Excellent quantitative and analytical reporting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong business acumen in the media marketplace - know how to negotiate the best possible deals for clients.
