MISSION
We’re on the hunt for a proactive systems thinker to join SwagUp to build out the future of Sourcing and Purchasing. In this role you’ll have the exciting opportunity to lead our efforts in streamlining the swag supply chain!
As someone who loves to break down and build complex workflows, you will be responsible for architecting our sourcing and purchasing processes from beginning to end, including how new orders are received, processed by our team, submitted to vendors, tracked and communicated, as well as the technology, automations, and integrations are leveraged along the way.
As VP, Sourcing & Purchasing (S&P), you will partner with our Operations, Data, Revenue, FP&A, and Merchandising teams to forecast peak and non-peak demand in order to scale our processes, better partner with vendors, and make cost benefit decisions around outsourcing vs vertical integrations/insourcing and then execute on the determination.
You will lead, manage and develop a sourcing and purchasing team on creating and innovating current initiatives with our suppliers focusing on merchandising, procurement, reducing costs, improving quality, and building efficiencies, resulting in a better customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, manage and develop the sourcing and purchasing team, helping them grow in every avenue
- Act as the subject matter expert for S&P, driving improvement, standardization, and consistency of sourcing procedures
- Audit existing workflow and processes, establish baseline performance metrics and innovate and streamline at every turn
- Build workflows and processes around related S&P activities, including forecasting, ordering, vendor communication, and analytics
- Lead the development of vendor relationships, programs, integrations, tooling, and monitoring to ensure real-time data streams and SLA’s and costs targets are met
- Build a vendor performance scorecard/dashboard to monitor and optimize vendor performance
- Plan and navigate supply chain disruptions to ensure product stock is adequate and can meet demand from customers, while building in the flexibility to manage out of stocks
- Develop peak and non-peak planning forecasts and processes
- Create and manage KPIs, peer benchmarking, and manage organizational OKRs
- Help establish S&P Team goals, including savings targets, service levels, and own responsibility for the team’s performance and effectiveness
- Act as the ambassador of the S&P team, able to articulate the team’s functional and strategic value in the context of projects and technological development
- Possess a strategic business mindset, organizational savvy, an executive-level presence, and be able to balance multiple demands simultaneously
- Proactively report-out regularly on business & operating status to leadership
- Manage the org’s P&L, obtaining and deploying the resources needed to tackle business problems
- Broaden our sourcing capabilities to new product types (i.e. on-demand) and new markets (EU, EMEA) etc to meet customer’s needs
REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of sourcing and/or purchasing leadership experience in supply chain including vendor relations, procurement, sourcing, private label and distribution
- Expert knowledge managing vendor sourcing and relations
- Demonstrated track record developing, sustaining and improving vendor relationships
- Ability to work across the organization and collaborate, partnering with various teams to ensure total customer satisfaction
- Taking an analytical, data-driven approach to identify bottlenecks in our ordering process with critical thinking skills
- Understanding of how to present large sets of data, both quantitative and qualitative, to leadership for operational strategy
- Tech savvy, able to implement automated processes and data tracking
- Ability to connect the dots between sourcing, its objectives and how they play into broader business goals
- Have a keen eye for creativity and empathy with our customers
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Increase overall customer satisfaction and NPS through a smoother and faster end to end process
- Decrease the time it takes from Purchase Order placement to order arrival in our fulfillment center
- Drive down product and labor costs to increase gross margin and drive down purchase costs for our customers through an automated and tech-driven workflow
- Simplify and streamline product defects by maintaining high quality standards with vendors and tighter controls of our purchasing process
- Partner with 3rd party vendors to assist with our product and supplier data maintenance via vendor portal and/or integrations
- Reduce out of stock issues with vendors on key items
- Contribute to revenue growth within account base from expanded sourcing capabilities
- Full visibility into the current status and location of PO’s

Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000
