Position Overview: As a CNC Programmer/ Machine Shop ProgrammerKey Responsibilities:• Programming and Setup:• Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for various machining operations.• Select appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds to ensure efficient and precise machining.• Set up CNC machines, including tool selection, fixture setup, and machine calibration.• Conduct test runs and adjust programs to ensure accuracy and quality.• Technical Support and Troubleshooting:• Provide technical support to machinists and operators, assisting with programming issues and machine setup.• Troubleshoot and resolve programming errors, tooling problems, and machine malfunctions.• Collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure timely repair and maintenance of CNC machines and equipment.• Quality Control and Assurance:• Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure product conformance and customer satisfaction.• Inspect machined parts and components to verify accuracy, dimensions, and surface finish.• Work with quality assurance personnel to address any non-conformities or quality issues and implement corrective actions.• Process Improvement:• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in CNC machining operations.• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to develop and implement new machining techniques and processes.• Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in CNC programming and machining.Qualifications and Skills:• Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.• Proven experience in CNC programming, including experience with CAD/CAM software.• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees, engineers, and management.• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Physical Requirements:• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, machinery, and equipment, up to 50 pounds.• Stamina to stand, walk, and perform duties in a machine shop environment for extended periods.• Manual dexterity for handling tools, operating machinery, and performing inspections.• Visual acuity for inspecting machined parts and reading technical drawings.Our client is committed to ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and standards, including those established by the Department of Labor (DOL) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
