The award-winning design, fine gardening, and irrigation company Wisteria & Rose is seeking enthusiastic plant lovers to join our team of professional Horticulturists. As a team member of Wisteria & Rose, you will be encouraged to expand your knowledge in all aspects of Horticulture. This includes planting, pruning, plant identification, insect and disease identification and treatments, garden design and irrigation. Located next to the orange line, at Sullivan Square.Field Landscape Designer (mid level position): As a Horticultural Field Designer, you will have the opportunity to bring the Senior Designers beautiful, high end, stylish and contemporary gardens and landscapes to life! As you develop an extensive knowledge of plants and horticulture you will learn to hone your ability to visualize and develop creative solutions. You willl be doing onsite landscape design, client up-sales, plant purchasing and more!Responsibilities:• Assist the Landscape Design Manager in the installation of residential landscape gardens, roof top gardens,courtyards and container gardens• Client up-sales, and onsite designs• Garden quality control• Perform field measurements and site analysis• Research, source, order and pick up plant and other materials required for projects• Follow up with clients during and after installation.• Assist in plant buying, and be able to substitute plant choices based on quality and budget.• Be involved in all aspects of gardening, from the beginning, through maintenance, to the end.Qualifications:• Attention to detail• 2+ years experience performing residential garden and landscape design or horticulture work• Strong sense of design, landscape aesthetics and ability to properly place and site plants in garden beds• Strong plant identification skills and knowledge of perennial, shrub and tree characteristics.• Container planting knowledge and skill a plus• Valid MA driver’s license with an excellent driving record.• Time management skills, self-direction, flexibility, and ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral• Ability to conduct research, complete thorough and detailed site analysis evaluations, perform associated fieldwork and document field investigations in written, verbal and graphic form.• Ability to work on numerous projects at once, with efficiency and on a deadline.Benefits and Hours:• Monday – Friday 7:30-4:00• Paid Holidays and time off• Insurance reimbursement• Company vehicle for use during work• Company Computer• Continuing education in the Horticultural field• Simple IRA$25-$32/hour commensurate with experienceJob Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hourExpected hours: 38 – 45 per weekBenefits:• Health insurance• Paid time offSchedule:• 8 hour shift• Monday to Friday• No weekendsExperience:• Plant Purchasing: 1 year (Preferred)• Landscaping: 2 years (Preferred)License/Certification:• Driver's License (Required)Work Location: In person
