Position Summary...What you'll do...Senior Manager, Business StrategyThe Senior Manager, Business Strategy will play a role in the continued success and growth of Data Ventures by working through the development and evaluation of new business strategy and monetization opportunities; from identification, to business case development, to proof of concept. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Director Business Strategy and key stakeholders, leveraging influencing and collaboration skills, and program/project management expertise to impact long range planning and continued business growth.Walmart Data Ventures is focused on productizing Walmart's rich data assets to better serve customers and provide data products that deliver actionable, customer-centric insights to help merchants and brands make better business decisions.In this role, you will:• Love the problem; and be energized and motivated by the opportunity to help solve• Be comfortable in ambiguity and a matrix environment• Answer the question "Do we have the right to win?"• Lead with your collaboration and influencing skills, working with cross functional partners and departmentsThe essential functions of the role include, but are not limited to:• Support development and maintenance of long-range plan for Data Ventures• Help manage the strategy assessment process, led by the Director of Business Strategy, including hypothesis and use-case development, business plan creation, proof-of-concept execution, and successful product launch• Support and launch growth initiatives to execute the strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Product, Tech, Marketing, Account Management, and Sales, to validate go-to-market strategies, create accurate financial models, and execute proof-of-concept projects.• Embrace and promote the Walmart culture and values, ensuring alignment with the existing teamYou'll wow us with:• You have proven analytical skills to interpret insights coming from various initiatives, along with a mindset for continuous learning and improvement• You are structured in your thought process and can break down large problems into smaller simpler problems• You have helped to develop strategic roadmaps in the past, on the basis of business cases and data-informed insights• You're someone who can execute, with strong discipline and organization skills; someone who gets things done• You are someone who can work independently to identify business trends and implications in order to create a clear business narrative for peers and leadership on a regular basis.• You can collaborate in a highly cross-functional environment, often in complex organizational matrices• You've shown an ability to build relationships and influence with and without authority• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate at appropriate levels of detail, based on the audience• You're stimulated by challenges and are ready to engage at Fortune 1 scaleMinimum Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 4 years' experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area OR 6 years' experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area.• 3 years' supervisory experience• 3 years' experience leading cross-functional teamsPreferred Qualifications:• Business strategy / growth strategy in a customer lifecycle role• Collaboration with analytics, data science, product, and technology partners• Driving results in a matrixed organizationPosition Location:• Hoboken, NJ OR Sunnyvale, CA OR Bentonville, AR• 5 days a week in the office (not a remote/virtual position)Benefits & Perks:Beyond our great compensation package, you can receive incentive awards for your performance.
