Position Summary...

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll lead the technical work of a small to medium sized product team, including offshore associates, for Campus Technology projects across Walmart's corporate office portfolio such as new product and feature development, technical research and proof-of-concept creation, as well as optimization efforts in a DevOps team model.

The Associate Experience and Digital Transformation (AEDT) mission is to deliver business value through consumer-grade products and services; building trust through transparency, reducing our operational costs; and reinvesting into experienced-based outcomes which enable radical flexibility for the evolving digital workforce. It builds, owns, and operates several internal and external tools that help our associates (what Walmart calls its employees) work smarter, faster, and more collaboratively. This specific role is on AEDT's Campus Technology team whose vision is to power the world's most user-friendly campus experience.

What you'll do:

You'll help meet our customer needs by designing/architecting solutions, translating them into functional work requirements, guiding weekly engineering delivery, and setting/maintaining engineering standards for the team. You'll frequently collaborate with your Product Owner, cross-functional partners, Architecture leads, UX Designers and Researchers, as well as our core stakeholders.

What you'll bring:

  • Expertise in architecting modular, extensible, and functional designs for mobile and web applications.
  • 4-6 years of experience with microservice architectures, cross-platform data integrations, graph and relational databases, API orchestration/optimization, as well as telemetry and monitoring.
  • Proficiency in full stack development using JavaScript frameworks/libraries (React or Angular), ReactNative Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, CosmosDB, SQL, as well as GenAI development tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to move fast in dynamic environments by rapidly iterating on solutions, prioritizing agile execution, and efficiently. 
  • Proven track record of bringing innovative ideas back to the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and forward-thinking problem solving.
  •  Strong collaborator and communicator who can present technical recommendations to stakeholders and cross-functional partners. Experience with directly/indirectly leading the work of other engineers.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
