This role is crucial in creating intuitive, efficient, and responsive user interfaces that will directly impact our users' experience and our platform's success.As a key technical leader on our front-end team, you'll drive architectural decisions, mentor other engineers, and build high-performance, scalable, and accessible user interfaces that serve diverse user groups including rare disease patients, healthcare providers, researchers, and our internal teams.Your work will be at the heart of our mission, translating complex health data and research findings into user-friendly interfaces that empower patients, facilitate groundbreaking research, and streamline our internal operations.Responsibilities• Architect and implement high-performance, scalable front-end solutions using modern web technologies• Lead the design and development of reusable UI components and libraries to ensure consistency across our platform• Optimize application performance, focusing on load time, responsiveness, and efficient resource usage, particularly crucial for our data-intensive healthcare applications• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and mockups into responsive, interactive features that meet the needs of rare disease patients, healthcare providers, and researchers• Implement and maintain robust front-end testing strategies, including unit tests and end-to-end tests, to ensure the reliability of our critical health-related applications• Work closely with back-end engineering teams to integrate front-end applications with APIs and services, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality• Mentor junior front-end developers• Participate in code reviewsQualifications• 7+ years of experience in front-end development, with a focus on complex single-page applications (SPAs) and a proven track record of launching consumer-facing products• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and modern CSS (including CSS-in-JS solutions)• Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques, scalability, and security• Experience with state management solutions (e.g., Redux, MobX, or Recoil)• Familiarity with modern build tools, module bundlers, and CI/CD pipelines• Knowledge of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility• Experience with front-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)• Proven track record of high-quality coding and architectural designAt Citizen Health, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
