We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to lead our B2B Affiliate and Influencer marketing and Direct Buys strategy as part of our integrated marketing campaigns. Reporting to the Director of Digital Media, this candidate will serve as our resident expert on all things related to leveraging and growing a network of affiliates, influencers, industry publications and content partners . This role is a critical addition to the Marketplace marketing team, with the goal of attracting and tracking new leads and generating awareness and interest for the brand. You will enjoy autonomy to design and activate digital marketing strategies for this program that are part of the broader, integrated omni-channel strategy.
You will make an impact by:
• Acquiring new Walmart Marketplace sellers, particularly SMBs, through affiliate and influencer marketing strategies and tactics and generating awareness and leads through potential partners and niche media publications.
• Building the strategic roadmap for the Marketplace affiliate and influencer program including planning, managing, and activating promotional campaigns geared towards seller engagement and sign-ups.
• Being a thought leader in this space and providing a framework to run the affiliate and influencer program in the most efficient way.
• Evaluating affiliates and publishers for brand alignment, target audience, content quality, visibility offered, and building a best-in-class, performance-driven partner network.
• Utilizing deep and broad technical understanding of affiliate and influencer platforms' systems and structures to effectively guide campaign execution . Experience with Impact.com highly preferred.
• Driving direct partnerships with large retail publications such as Forbes and WSJ and managing the media buys.
• Creating playbooks, SOPs, and checklists to establish ways of working with affiliates, influencers, and publishers as well as internally.
• Managing campaigns, defining execution plans and work-back-schedules for campaign set-up, ensuring alignment with objectives
• Planning, testing, measuring performance of, optimizing, and scaling marketing assets, messages, and content.
• Setting up key processes and tracking mechanisms for measuring pipeline generated with end-to-end visibility from lead to launch.
• Managing KPIs – CPA, CPL, CR%, Spend, ROAS, ROI, across the program and ensuring most efficient ad spend.
• Monitoring pacing, POs, invoicing, and reconciliation of affiliate and influencers payouts.
• Partnering with (1) our Brand, Content, and Creative team to develop assets and campaigns; (2) our Product Management / Technology teams to define requirements for, prioritize, and build marketing technology capabilities; and (3) our Walmart Connect and Walmart Fulfillment Services teams to create content and co-market to prospective new sellers.
• Working with agency partners as needed.
• Sharing weekly, monthly, quarterly results on performance against plans and forecasts and key lessons learned with leadership.
• Developing insights to suggest improvements to channel strategy that will differentiate Walmart Marketplace from competition.
You’ll sweep us off our feet if…
• You have 8+ years of practical and tactical experience with digital marketing channels, with at least 5 years focus on building and managing successful Affiliate/Influencer Marketing programs and managing direct partnerships
• You can successful ly drive ad campaigns while managing performance metrics in a B2B environment
• You have experience with Impact, Salesforce, HubSpot, Tableau, Google analytics or similar platforms.
• You stay abreast with what’s new and generate ideas and approaches to improve channel performance and make campaign optimizations as needed
• You are analytical and data-driven in your decision making with a strong bias for testing-and-learning
• You are excellent at managing external partnerships, especially handling negotiations, working out deal parameters and holding people accountable.
• You are comfortable interacting with internal and external teams to create compelling content
• You bring experience developing B2B acquisition marketing strategies and plans, ideally for acquisition of SMBs
• You build and develop relationships, communicate frequently and clearly, and enjoy collaborating
